has been a practicing experience designer since 1996 and is a partner at Sliced Bread Design, an interaction design and usability agency. Through her work at Sliced Bread, Julie has specialized in designing complex online, wireless, and voice applications for clients such as Elevon, Tellme, Agilent, and Casio. She also recently published a paper, commissioned by Consumer's Union, which analyzed how health and finance experts evaluate the credibility of websites in their field. Julie has extensive experience in designing finacially oriented applications ranging from enterprise resource planning applications for Fortune 500 companies to online financial advice for consumers. Other notable projects in her past include designing the first generation Oracle Support intranet, and working on one of the first voice interfaces for Sun that demonstrated the capabilities of Java.
Julie has a B.S. degree in Symbolic Systems with a focus on Human Computer Interaction from Stanford Univerity and an M.A. degree in Communications with an Interaction Design specialization also from Stanford. In her spare time, Julie swing dances with her husband, plays with her border collie, and experiments with home improvement projects.
