Wow, I could not have found this article at a more appropriate time. All of the issues that you mention are hot button issues for the application that I am currently tasked with designing. Although I know much of what you mentioned in the article it was great to see all of the diffrent implementations and interpretations of where they would be nicely applied.

Thanks a lot for writing.

Joe, Thank you for develolping this series. I have found them very very useful. This takes all of the conceptual talk about containers and building blocks and applies it which is what allows for further thought. I am very happy to have found this series.

Thanks a lot

I wish that I could publish this to my LinkedIn account for my contacts and others that ask me questions to see.

Daniel thanks for the article. I have found that with some of my customers the fear me actually getting to the direct users of the system. This approach will surely assist me in capturing the data I need to produce a better product for them. The interesting thing I continue to hear from customers is that their customer base is too large to get data from all of them. I continuously have to explain to them that what we are doing is research and would only require a sampling of the users. At times I have found that not even letting them know it is doable helps the cause because in the end they are afraid of what the users have to say. Again thanks for the article.

Afshan,

Excellent article. I am forever working on web forms harping on these points to developers and BA’s. The one nut that I have a tough time cracking is the customer especially when it comes to designing forms that can and should be modified from the paper version to use technologies of the web to make the form more user friendly. In many cases I end up for multiple reasons developing forms that mimic the paper form and not optimaly designed for web technologies.

For this reason I think that customer influence should be touched on lightly in this series but customer persuation left to an entirely different article.

I look forward to the next article focusing on the designer and how they use buttons versus links as well as graphics and css to help users through the form. At least I think that is what you are writing about. If not I am still excited to read it.

Thanks again for an excellent article

For this article to be of help it would have to be focused on this audience. The lure is to write it from an IA stand point but then you would talking to Marketers not the community on this site of UX, IA, etc professionals.
