Article Idea:
Making MOSS Rock'n'Roll
suggested by Zef Fugaz on 2007/05/28
I recently created a tag-driven Information Architecture for an intranet built on MOSS (Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007).
One good thing about this was that MOSS allowed us to experiment with the model and change it when required. Microsoft are apparently quite interested in my approach as it turned their model “upside down” and avoids information silos.
Is this something B&A readers would be interested in?
The article might cover:
* Creating an IA for the MOSS platform * Content types * Tag-driven navigation * Faceted navigation

This would be interesting! Especially from what I hear about MOSS and how it could become much more pervasive than the old SharePoint or other portal products ever were. Any insight you gleaned from how MOSS ties into the user’s desktop environment (if applicable here) as well would be great too.

I´m getting in on a fifth iteration of a WSS, SPS and now MOSS project. I would like to hear about your experience!

Thanks for the feedback. All I need to do now is find the time! I’m setting myself a goal of getting this done by the end of August 2007 and submitting it to B+A.

I was very impressed with the NZ MoT Tag Driven IA Article (http://blogs.msdn.com/sharepoint/archive/2008/04/29/how-w…). For a B + A I would be interested in seeing you blow this topic out. This type of navigational model is challenging and I’d love to hear more.
Congrats on the nod from Nielson, Zef. That’s a hot list to be on. [http://www.nngroup.com/reports/intranet/design/]
