Article Idea:
Need help

Hiya,
I was wondering if any of you designers could help with a very simple task which may be linked to an interactive prototype on powerpoint.I just stumbled across the article by one of disigners on your forum.
Basically I want to do a presentation on falling in the elderly (I am a physiotherapist) i have very basic ppt skills and web skills.
Just want a slide which will have a load of words scattered or listed on the slide, hidden from the audience initially but each one only being revealed in the order that members of the audience suggest them, therefore involving some kind of reveal on click mechanism…basically the equivalent of a flip chart with pen and paper.
I have racked my scientific brain but probably need the artistic flair of the forum members.
I hope this is not an inconvenience or too trivial for the forum but I thought I would give you a go.
Many Thanks for any advice or direction as to where to go for such advice.
Regards

User custom animation. Right click the object / text which you want to animate (hide), you will get a menu “custom animation”. Right side panel will show various options for same. choose Add effects > Entrance > Blinds
You can also decide the series the way animation has to appear on screen/ text need to appear on screen.

I assume from the description of the requirement that you don’t have control over the sequence of the words as they would be suggested by the audience. If this is the case, then sequential animation might not help you. Ideally this should be done using Visual Basic Scripts within PPT. But here is a way to work around this:
1- Under Format Menu Choose Slide Color Scheme and set the “Accent and hyperlink” color to match the background color. Please use a solid background color for this slide. In the same place also change the “Accent and followed hyperlink” color to the color of the words as you want them to be revealed.
2- Create a text box or rectangle, type one of the words in it. Select the text then right-click>Hyperlink. A dialogue box opens. Click in the Anchor field then press Locate. Select Slide Titles and select the same slide you are on as a destination for the link. Repeat for all words. Since the word and the background have the same color, during the slide show the words will be invisible and will appear when you click on them as they become visited links. The trick is that the destination is the same slide. So you get what you want.
3- Optional: since the words are invisible, you might want a hint as to where each word is. I suggest right -click on the BOX of each word and assign a hyperlink aslo to the same word as before, only this time, click also on the Screen Tip button and add a hint for yourself. When in the slide show mode, a small screen tip will appear under the hand pointer. I doubt your audience will be able to read this but you can. This will help you know the word before you reveal it. Another tip, try a stroke around the boxes it identifies for you the clicking zone.
Hope this helps. If I managed to confuse enough :) let me know I can e-mail you a template slide. Good Luck!
