Article Idea:
Column Widths and Character Count
suggested by James Wondrack on 2009/12/23
Just wondering if anyone still reads boxesandarrows.com online (vs. feed). If so, are they as annoyed by the main content width as I am?
I’m counting about 125 characters per line on average – about double what most typography style guides standards recommend including Robert Bringhurst’s The Elements of Typographic Style. The same The Elements of Typographic Style I find listed in boxesandarrows.com’s “Our Favorite Books” section. I find a narrower column width and comfortable character count a must-have in good information design and layout.

Since finding this site, about 15 minutes ago, I have been thinking the same thing. I think I will have to switch it over to me feed reader
