Article Idea:
Review of "Press On: Principles of Interaction Programming" by Harold Thimbleby
suggested by Patrick Dubroy on 2008/12/03
A few months ago, I read Harold Thimbleby’s new book, “Press On: Principles of Interaction Programming” (http://tinyurl.com/5dn6y7).
According to Thimbleby, the term “interaction programming” challenges the view that the interface should be created by designers and the functionality implemented by programmers. He argues that programmers can and should play a much bigger role in the usability of interactive devices.
I think this is an interesting topic for B+A readers. Even though I’m a programmer, I found myself disagreeing with a lot of things Thimbleby says in this book. I think he underestimates the difficulty of good design.
