Article Idea:
Wireframes for Ajax?
suggested by Andres Zapata on 2006/01/31
Wire-frames. We’ve all done them. We’ve all had to make sure our clients look at placement, labels, flow, and real estate distribution – but ignore color and design at all cost because, after all, they are wire-frames.
As web techniques evolve, we are presented with one new dimension of information to convey through our wire frames: multi-state micro interactivity and dependencies (MSMID).
AJAX, Laszlo, Flex and other technologies and techniques that enhance usability challenge the way we think as architects, but more importantly, it puts a larger demand on our deliverables.
This article will, in the form of a case study, outline techniques that were used to successfully architect and design a rich internet application.

My only suggestion if you were to do this article is to NOT use the term wireframes. Rather you should speak more geneerally about how to …
Design, communicate, test and document richer web-based applications. Keep it jargon free, and speak to the issues.
BTW, there is going to be a great double session at the IA Summit on Wireframing 1/2 of which is devoted to this topic.

I would be interested in this discussion. I am currently researching appropriate ways to display a drop-down comment box in a wireframe (and yes I used the term wireframe). I am still having troubles drawing a line in the sand in my definition of a wireframe. As technology progresses and users become more savvy the median between what is considered a wireframe and what is considered a prototype becomes fuzzy. So I would definitely be interested in more of this discussion.
