Article Idea:
audio-video goodness
suggested by Victor Lombardi on 2005/12/06
More of a format suggestion than a story idea. Given that this is a community of design folks, and we’ve had multimedia since the CD-ROM days, and the tools to make whole movies are now shipped with our computers, it’d be great to see more stories told through audio-video means (or even, interactive!) instead of text and images only. Let’s see Marc Rettig whiteboard some conceptual design! Let’s see Dan Brown weild Visio! Let’s see Dan Willis draw comics!
Thanks for listening.

We’d love to, and our new CMS supports it, so let’s get some people submitting audio-video stories!!!

I’m a major believer myself in visual processes and will often promote DVD as the media platform of choice over paper. However video streams encoded for the web are to date pretty nasty and the effect level over text and images is considerable.
I guess we will endup starting with slides and audio – I remember seeing a presentation by Apple years back that did this with style.

It would be great to be able to add it as a video podcast to my video ipod. I can imagine sharing some “how-to’s” at work that way.
