How We Got Here: The Growth of IA within a major .com

Dana Thomas is the Director of UX for Travelocity and has seen the IA team grow from 0 to 10 in her 11 years with the company. Fayyaz Shah is a former IA and current VP of Global Convergence Management for Travelocity. I would like to interview the two of them panel style to see what kind of insights develop. Generally the conversation would focus on the growth of IA within their company, juxtaposed against the growth of a single IA into a VP. It could focus on various issues depending on suggestions I receive.

Would be interesting to include 1 or 2 additional panelists, providing teams good supporting material for UX.

I like this concept. We have been watching the role grow in IBM for several years now, and it has just this past year become an “officially” recognized title with a career path, etc. In fact, I am the first manager of an Information Architecture team within IBM. I would love to help with this article if it turns into something.
