What it takes to be a Designer

I’ve been studying professional development for over five years now, and I would like to tie this in more with the User Experience Designer or any of the other designer titles. I’ve already written a couple of articles in my blog, but I would like to write some unique articles just for B&A.
Any interest in my perspective of what it takes to “be” in this profession?

I’ll start – For everyone out there who want to go to the next level, either to begin your career or to grow in your current position, what questions do you have? Any problematic scenarios? Need another person’s perspective for growth?
