When I try to explain in an enterprise setting what I do people often say ‘Oh you’re keeping things within 3 clicks’. To me 3 clicks has no relevance whatsoever to what I do. Did any research ever support this axiom or is it just another urban myth?

I commented somewhere else about a study that showed how users in sites where they were “confident” (i.e. trusting that they’d get to the beef) blew right past the “3 click” limit without missing a beat.

Now, if I could remember more about that study I could find it and report something about the etiology of “confidence”.
