Article Idea:
How to use FrameMaker to build a UX documentation library
suggested by Bo Lora on 2011/05/09
I have seen UX documentation come and go in all kinds of formats. Some things are common to most UX documentation:
- developers tend to not read it at all, they always gravitate to comps.
- it is difficult to maintain
- hard to know what or where the latest version is
We realized that these challenges are also there for technical documentation in other products/industries and the tool of choice for technical documentation is FrameMaker which is now part of Adobe’s Technical Documentation Suite.
We have now created a comprehensive documentation library that allows us to publish documents with UX specifications which can be as comprehensive or as specific and simple as we need it to be.
I would like to write an article that will explain to the reader the reasons why we decided to use FrameMaker and explain the benefits we already see going into the sixth month of using it.
