The European IA Summit 2005 offered an outstanding line-up of speakers. Couldn’t make it? Find out when happened. In this article, Deborah Gover reviews some of the program highlights.

Thanks for a really useful summary. Doing these things is always a bit of a chore but it’s appreciated!

I enjoyed this post, it’s always informative getting an international view on any topic.

Also, I am using this site to become better informed on what IA is all about for a Library Science class I am taking, and it’s really helping, thank-you!

Finally, I had to chuckle when I saw the comment about having a wheelbarrel full of slides to show for documentation of your summits. Coming from the library field, I can’t help but heartily agree that you all should be documenting your work. It’s important to other communities besides the computing world and because IA is a growing field more people will be affected by it and thus need to understand what you do.

As a librarian I can tell you right now, slides are becoming obsolete quicker then then the printed word- so write those articles, books, and papers and publish/digitize them, we need them!

Peter Bogaards kindly reminded me that another result of the summit was a euro IA mailing list:

Thank you Peter!
